The Central Interior Partners in Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CIPAHRD) is committed to building capacity within the Central Interior to include all people. As the administrative body for the local delivery mechanisms of the Shuswap Training and Employment Program (STEP), Interior Salish Employment and Training Society (ISETS), Fraser Thompson Indian Services Society (FTISS), and the flow-through for the urban dollars for the Central Urban Training & Employment Society (CUTES), the need to ensure that the Central Interior Partners have a long-term vision and look ahead to the future is important.
With the distribution of money received by Service Canada, the Aboriginal Human Resource Development Agreement (AHRDA) was initially under the Shuswap Training and Employment Program (STEP) due to the fact that the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council Society (SNTCS) is the sponsor for the AHRDA. However, in order to ensure that the other adjoining Nations were also given consideration, the name was changed to the Central Interior Partners in Aboriginal Human Resource Development to reflect the organizations mandate to serve all three Nations, the Secwepemc, Nlaka’pamux, and St’at’imc.
Currently, the managers for the Local Delivery Mechanisms and CIPAHRD or sub agreements are as follows:
The de-centralization of services to the Local Delivery Mechanisms is one way CIPAHRD wants to ensure that each community is serviced and managed according to their needs. A Steering Committee who oversees CIPAHRD Operations and Program. The CIPAHRD Steering Committee Members are Bob Moody, Bernadine Paul, Chief Nelson Leon, Susan James, Debbie Abbott, Brenda Antoine, Dennis Francis, and Gary Wiens. The CIPAHRD Operations currently have two employees, Program Manager, Executive Assistant, Child Care Coordinator, Trades Coordinator and PWD.
