CIPAHRD proactively negotiates and provides access to and distributes financial resources related to Aboriginal Human Resource Development, and advocates the enlargement and enrichment of Aboriginal Employment.
We will work in partnership to increase self-reliance of Aboriginal People within the Central Interior.
The Central Interior Partners in Aboriginal Human Resources (CIPAHRD), is committed to building capacity within the Central Interior service area to include all people regardless of residence.
As the administrative body for the local delivery mechanisms of the Shuswap Training and Employment Program (STEP), Interior Salish Employment and Training Society (ISETS), Fraser Thompson Indian Services Society (FTISS) and for urban programming are contracted out to Central Urban Training & Employment Society (CUTES), the need to ensure that the Central Interior Partners have a long-term vision and look ahead to the future is important.
The organizations mandate is to provide serve to30 First Nations communities in these 3 nations: the Secwepemc, Nlaka’pamux and St’at’imc.
Outside of monitoring the dollars that flow-through for CIPAHRD childcare-centres, and dealing with political issues raised at the British Columbia FN AHRDA Management Society, CIPAHRD’s main duties are to report to Service Canada and administer and monitor funding to STEP, ISETS, FTISS and CUTES.
As one of the ten First Nation AHRDA's in British Columbia, CIPAHRD will be prepared and ready to develop an Aboriginal employment and training strategy for 2009, when the AHRDA goes back for re-signing.
